The Refuge of Orgère welcomes you...
This stone building is one of the Doors
of the National park of Vanoise. With the origin, it was used as housing
to the workmen who worked in galleries E.D.F. in the vicinity.
This
Door is in the heart of the small valley of "Orgère", closed in north by the
Doran Needle and the Rake of Aussois. Near to this "place where the barley
is cultivated" (from where the word "Orgère"). Here, it is not rare to see
ibexes on the side of the Doran Needle, as well as marmots along the brook
of Povaret.
Let us not forget either the splendid forest of
larches, spruces, pines... which counts trees of more than 700
years.
